Many families in Indiana have wonderful memories of road trips and camping adventures in their RVs or motorhomes, but life circumstances often require them to part with these beloved vehicles. Whether it's a Class A Fleetwood that's been parked for a while or a pop-up camper that no longer fits your lifestyle, donating your recreational vehicle can turn it into a meaningful contribution for those in need.
At Hoosier Wheels, we understand that every RV has its own story. From the classic charm of a vintage Winnebago to the sleek modernity of an Airstream Interstate, your vehicle can help support local charities and community initiatives. Plus, with storage costs for RVs ranging from $150 to $300 per month, your donation not only benefits others, but also alleviates your financial burden.

How pickup works
When you decide to donate your RV or motorhome, Hoosier Wheels takes care of the logistics to make the process smooth and hassle-free. Our team utilizes specialized RV-transport flatbeds or drive-away services to ensure your vehicle is picked up safely and efficiently. If your RV is located in a storage facility, we will coordinate with the location to facilitate the pickup. Please ensure that we have the correct vehicle height and length information, as most states have a maximum routing clearance of 13'6".
What drives donation value
The value of your RV or motorhome donation is influenced by several key factors. The condition of house systems such as the roof, slides, plumbing, and air conditioning plays a significant role, often outweighing the importance of the drivetrain. Be mindful that water damage can severely devalue your vehicle. Providing recent maintenance records can boost your vehicle's worth, making your donation even more impactful. Additionally, consider the timing of your donation; spring auctions typically yield the highest prices for RVs. For classic models, having an independent appraisal can enhance your donation's value and ensure compliance with IRS regulations.
Documentation you need
- Vehicle title
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for off-road models
- Recent service records
- Appraisal for classic vehicles (IRS Form 8283 Section B)
- Bill of sale (if applicable)
Indiana specifics
In Indiana, it’s important to understand the DMV regulations for RVs and motorhomes. Most vehicles will require a state title for donation, while some may be eligible for a bill of sale. Our team is here to guide you through the specific requirements and ensure that your donation meets all local guidelines. By donating to Hoosier Wheels, you're not just decluttering; you're helping to make a difference in your community.
